Who: Mahiru Koizumi
When: Day 2, first thing in the morning
What: A delivery
[A cell phone, accompanied with a note, has been left outside of Mahiru's door. The cell phone has no personal information on it--it seems like it was reset--and all functions except for accessing the image gallery are locked. The gallery has two photos in it: one of her name being selected on a strange screen, and the next of "INNOCENT". The note reads as follows.]
Hello! We're the buddy cops, and we're getting in touch with you because we've confirmed you innocent! If you check the cell phone, the image gallery has pictures of our proof that we are who we say we are. It's also why we're getting in touch with you specifically! You have a camera, and with that we could photograph our results. We'd like to at least borrow it nightly. After discussing the issue, we think it would be safest for you if you let us borrow your camera for the duration of us being stuck here, since then you wouldn't have to keep sneaking around and we wouldn't have to use you to report our results, but since it's your camera, if you'd prefer to have it back regularly, just let us know in a note!
Please leave the cell phone, your camera (please!!!), and a note letting us know if you want us to give it back every day in the boat at the lake that looks like it wouldn't support any people so that way no one takes it out and finds it. Thank you!
[If Mahiru wants her camera back daily, she will find it in front of her door every morning.]

wait I have a number of serious questions about this cell phone though. while all the functions are locked, was this originally a cameraphone at some point in its sad life? is there a physically intact piece of camera hardware? (I am not saying mahiru will hack it or anything but this will affect her reaction.) does it have a memory card, or does it at least have a slot for a memory card?
i have been playing mahiru as having a digital camera with one in-use memory card and one spare memory card (maybe more). she cannot print out photos from this digital camera itself, just display them on a viewfinder (monitor). she has been giving her main memory card to aya, who puts it into her cool touhou camera and physically prints pictures like a polaroid or something.
you are totally allowed to dismiss any of these questions as like... irrelevant to gameplay, as you see fit

It's a basic cell phone, which would include a camera, but it's been wiped/locked so you can't find out the identity of the owner, basically.

now she's almost definitely going to comply and drop off her camera evening 2 but she will probably at least have an accompanying note explaining all her misgivings with the plan. do you think that will be adequate to iron out the kinks in the arrangement, or should I write up a message (to be sent by you to the other player) with concise technical questions?

wait a second is this meant to indicate that resetting or not, the deduction 'a specific person originally owned this cell phone" could easily be made! you should not answer that question. this only strengthens my latent theory about who did this and why
MESSAGE SEGMENT
1. Does the phone physically have a camera?
2. Do the images in the gallery appear to have been taken by such a camera?
3. Does the phone contain a memory card?
4. Does the phone have a memory card slot?
5. Would this memory slot be compatible with the type of memory card used in Mahiru's camera itself?
6. Are there any additional physical details about the phone that would be of interest? For example, what color is it? What is the basic shape, e.g. flip-phone?
7. Are there any additional physical details about the note that would be of interest? e.g. handwriting
I apologize for these numerous pedantic questions! Feel free to answer as many or as few as you like; I just wanted to be as comprehensive as possible. I'm very excited about this plot opportunity and look forward to whatever happens next

2. Yes
3. No
4. Yes
5. The phone uses micro SD cards so it'll depend on what kind of SD cards the camera uses.
6. The phone is black with no case. It's a smart phone. It's not a flip phone and not an iPhone. The phone seems to be in good shape with no scuff marks on it, so it may have had a case that was removed.
7. The handwriting is very neat and serious-looking. It's written in black ink.
NOT A MESSAGE...
am i allowed to paste the note into these locked convos or do you wanna do something else special or would it be better if she kept the note in her room? she will definitely be leaving at least the cell phone in her room for security

showing a blurry photo of the cell phone's screen to dipper
I want to believe
dangans you'll have to deal with her saying she has proof that she can show you later if you really want but by the day 3 trial it will probably become undeniable BY WHICH I MEAN! that if they get a day 3 result she will show everyone from her camera??? I'M STILL WAITING TO GET THE GO-AHEAD FROM DIPPER.....................
she will have such a long heartfelt letter to go with this too, god

CAMERA DROPOFF + LETTER
Dear Buddy Cops,
Thank you for trusting me! Please give me my camera back soon. It might sound stupid to you, but handing it over forever... is sort of like giving up on life for me. That's not selfish if it helps make other people happy too, right? I hope that's okay. You can keep my camera after I die, if you really want, but I hope I don't. I'm okay with revealing the results, since it's not like I have the power myself, so where's the incentive for me to be killed?
The thing is, I think you can maybe even still make this work without keeping my camera all the time or even borrowing it all the time - which is going to be very inconvenient for all of us, since before I wore it everywhere and everyone will notice right away.
This is my spare memory card! Take it out of the adapter, then it can fit into the cell phone. That way you could even just slip the card under my door in the morning! (Just be careful to rotate the photos so they look they were all taken the same way, if you do that.) The card will also be way easier to hide so we might be able to decide on a different drop point that's less out of the way.
I look forward so much to what you can do now! Thank you again!!!
Mahiru Koizumi
P.S. My buddy is very excited about this too!
