Every one has its own number, so you dial that number and then it rings and you can talk to that person through their phone, even if you're far away. With a cell phone, you can also save the numbers inside the phone, and give everyone their own ringtone.

Normally you could call someone else if you had their number, but there's no reception here. There isn't any TV signal, either, so they're basically useless.
