special guests night seven 18 players remaining. There's no way to mark the passage of time after lights out, but it isn't long before the lightbulb in your bedroom flickers back to life, and your door unlocks. Make your way into the park; the door will unlock for you, and the path you need to take lights up with a dim red glow. When you reach the foot of the treehouse, a ladder has been dropped for you. Climb up and come inside. The interior of the treehouse has been made comfortable for you. There's an old map of the park on the wall, as well as the mounted and stuffed heads of cartoon animal costumes on the wall. The decor seems like something of a parody of an upscale hunting lodge, and you're welcome to sit by the fire and enjoy snacks from back home, or relax in one of the outdoor hammocks. Enjoy yourself as you decide who to kill. After all, you're in on a little secret - none of this is real, and it's all part of a fun little game from which everyone, winners and losers alike, will wake up. current character statuses rulebook profiles All night votes will be due October 9 by 4 PM EST.

[Upon arriving, the intercom, featuring a smiling cartoon crocodile, begins to speak.]

"Oh no, oh no! I hope Royce and Anise will be okay! You guys better hurry, this is bad!"

[sunshade]

What happened? What went wrong? Is it because the bomber got to them?

[guestcontrol]

Yeah! The bomber got them. It doesn't look good, either. We'll need all the help we can get.

Tonight, you guys should do something serious to make sure the person you choose wakes up quickly. Remember, if it's a slow "death" and a big pinch, it works much better.

....we need to get rid of the Buddy Cops tonight. If the only clue we have is one of them having a cellphone, we need to make a list of everyone who conceivably has one, and make a swift, surgical strike.

[ she may or may not have muttered 'Thank you, Tamaki' under her breath just now wait what ]

[ To this, Ciel can be no help, since he knows what a cellphone is (thanks Kuroshit) but it's not something he can estimate for other people. He seems quieter tonight, so his suggestion is simple. ]

I stick with what I said yesterday. My choice would be Kenny.

[sunshade]

[ a heavy sigh ]

The only one I can personally discount is Aya...we don't have that kind of technology in Gensokyo, at least for the average youkai.

Ibuki also suggested Belgium, yes? It should be between her and Kenny.

[cheats]

I can also discount Peko and Honey, and I would be surprised if Oz held a role, but...

[ Ciel sighs as well ]

That child is so vigorous to condemn the VIPs and rather vicious in pursuing them, especially for someone that age. That, combined with admiration of heroics makes me imagine he has a role. Belgium I cannot say the same for. She does nothing of note.

[sunshade]

Admittedly, that's precisely why I suspect her. She has consistently stayed under the radar, a perfect move for someone with such a vital role.

As for Kenny...I wouldn't think a child would own something as expensive as a cellphone, but you never know these days. [ her shoulders droop ]

[ineptus]

Um, that's not really true! If their parents made a lot of money, the could get their kid a cell phone! I mean, there are things a lot more expensive that kids own, like game systems and computers and stuff. Plus if the kid works at like baby sitting or mowing lawns, they could definitely earn the money!

[She's not sure whether they should or shouldn't choose him but.]

[sunshade]

Ah, is that so? You'd know better than I would.

[ she's silent good few moments, and it almost seems like she has nothing else to say. but-- ]

I shall push for Belgium. The buddy cops are almost certainly going to investigate me tonight, and if they do, I will be "executed"--even if she isn't one of them, it narrows it down to Kenny himself. And you both can certainly vote for him tomorrow night.

...I hope we get them tonight, whoever we choose.

[She'd really prefer to have as many of them together as possible! It's getting really lonely..]

Then tomorrow, whoever shall live will vote for the other.

[ He says it coldly, then shakes his head ]

Unless the bomber is lucky, they can still only execute one of us a day, at least.

[sunshade]

[ she doesn't seem particularly offended. JUST HOW THIS FANCY GAME WORKS. ]

Mmm. We're cutting it down to the wire.

...At least my stunt today should make me a less obvious target. I can only hope that my gamble will be correct, and they shall assume I am on their side by throwing Tamaki to the wolves.

[ Ciel shakes his head and runs a hand through his hair. It seems like he's troubled by this all the same despite his attempts to seem otherwise. ]

That's another reason why I would vote Kenny too, in honesty. He had mentioned that the VIPs would turn on each other eventually. Now is that time, should we wish to win.

[sunshade]

Perhaps if we're lucky, Kenny and Belgium are both buddy cops. [ a small, rueful laugh. Haha. Luck. ]

But I'm fairly rooted on her. If Kenny is, in fact, a guest with no role, we could simply attribute it to childish ignorance. He fancies himself a superhero, no? It could merely be one of his fantasies, as sharp as he is. That said, I do believe he has some role--perhaps the medical team.

[cheats]

Then we may as well kill Belgium tonight and Kenny tomorrow.

[ since haha yeah, them having luck... ]

I've already thrown away Tamaki's life on a gamble, so I feel that tonight I have no right to push upon little more than a gut feeling. I will trust your judgement, Patchouli.

[ He sighs, shaking his head ]

We'll have a busy night, either way. No rest for us now until we either win or wake up.

Well, it's hardly more than a gut feeling on my part, either, considering her quiet behavior. But she was one of the ones Ibuki suggested. Considering her foresight with Missile and Mabel, I'm inclined to trust her. Sigma was a one-in-two shot, after all.

[ she grows quiet yet again, though, at those words ]

Perhaps I should say 'thank you.' [ .... ] Why did you do that? Out Tamaki like that.

Belgium, then. And Kenny tomorrow for whoever survives.

[ However, though he's able to decide the fate of someone easily, Ciel pauses, since the answer to her question takes a bit longer. ]

No thanks are necessary. If circumstances had aligned differently, it could have been the opposite. But it was merely a strategic move. You are likely to be investigated tonight, which will leave only Mabel and I. In the face of that, it was a gamble to put off our being picked as long as possible, though that may not be long. We can hardly know who has already been investigated, but I imagine that the number is low.

[ He sighs ]

Either way, we were to lose a third today. And honestly? I value your input and insight more than Tamaki's. He was a sacrifice for the hope that we may make our last moves into checkmate more wisely.

[sunshade]

[ a small, not entirely happy smile. ]

Ah, pragmatism. [ not like she'd ever say it out loud, but she likes you, ciel B| grumpy, intelligent people, hella ]

Well, the best of luck to you both if Belgium turns up to be a dry lead.

[ He nods, but seems to draw himself up a bit further, trying to portray himself as the proud, strong nobleman, even if he's weary from all the deaths today and what brought them. ]

At this point, pragmatism must be our guide. At the beginning, we were gambling, but now, we are playing at chess where we are at a disadvantage. I will be the last one standing if I must, and to my last breath, I will struggle to see all of our wishes made reality.

[ It's funny, when he says things like this. It doesn't seem to suit his small stature, and yet, it's clear enough that nobility and pride are both traits that he carries naturally and easily. There's no sense of wavering in his words. ]

I'll speak with you again tomorrow, in any case. I... I like to speak with everyone before they wake up, in truth.

Re: Bombs

I just wanted to update everyone on this, but Missile and Oz both have bombs now from Nanami. She's...just kind of choosing people without discussing anything with me at all. I don't think she really cares about my opinion so I don't know if I can do anything at all about that. Sorry...

I think we can say Missile won't be detonating anyone. Feh. [ ... ] Oz, on the other hand...I haven't spoken to him much.

[ineptus]

Yeah, I wasn't really worried about Missile. I guess Oz promised Nanami he wouldn't use it on anyone but the bomber but...

...Oz? Hm.

[ His expression turns cool, and he seems to consider something. ]

He considers me a friend... Not that I believe I could convince him to give it to me, but... I can think on it.

So, a slow death and a big pinch, was it?

[ Ciel shrugs, since let's get down to murderbusiness now that we have our victim(s??). ]

"Slow" brings to mind drowning, but to follow that with a bigger pinch is a bit of a different issue. I suppose we could have them bleed out for a while and then finish them off with something a bit larger.

[ineptus]

What kind of a pinch could we give them that would be big? Maybe if we work out the pinches first, we can decide on how to make it slow after that!

[cheats]

[ Ciel pauses uncertainly, but it's clear he has an idea, it's just difficult for him to say, in a way. He can imagine quite a few ways, all of the dances of a demon that he had witnessed, but... ]

Decapitation, I suppose.

[ But he had no desire to become Sebastian. As unbelievable as it may seem, this was still a kinder option than what else had come to mind. ]

[sunshade]

[ a very, very slight grimace from Patchouli over here ]

That could work.

The large ride, the roller coaster, was it? That should work well enough for that.

[ There's a pause as he frowns, but he continues smoothly. ]

String a cable or wire across the ride at the right level, and at the speeds that seems to go, that should work.

[sunshade]

Mmm. [ a nod in agreement ] That'll take care of Belgium. She likely has a partner, so what about them? My well of ideas has just about dried up.

[cheats]

Hmmm...

[ It takes him a minute, but eventually he offers up with a cool expression: ]

Poison. Just a bit of monkshood and they'll die in about fifteen minutes, but it's still an agonizing process, from what I understand. It is quick, relative to other poisons, but that death will seem slow, and they are more likely to die from choking.

[ He won't say on what... ]

[ineptus]

That sounds really awful...so...I guess that would work, wouldn't it?

[Why would you ever want to kill someone like that that's so horrible....]

[cheats]

[ Ciel grimaces, since this is hardly something he wants to expose someone as sweet as Mabel to, and this is why he hadn't wanted to convert her in the first place, but... Still, somehow, he's glad that she's here, if for different reasons. ]

...So it would seem. If we want to follow Crocs' advice. We could still wake him up with less of a pinch, I suppose, but... Letting them wake up more gently is probably better.

[ineptus]

Well...I want them to wake up as best as possible. I don't think they'd be very happy if we "killed" them and then they had a horrible wake up too. They'd probably be really grumpy! So...whatever we have to do to make sure they're all waking up on the right side of the bed!

[cheats]

[ and yes, this is it, this is why mabel is here... ]

[ Ciel laughs softly and nods. ]

That is true... They might be grumpy regardless, considering what it takes to wake up, but I suppose so long as we avoid the majority of it, they're likely better off.

[ineptus]

Yeah, but I bet they won't be grumpy for very long. All of their friends will be there! And everything will be explained and they get to have a good laugh at what a dumb game this really was. And if they're still grumpy when we wake up I'll just give them a big hug and I'm sure that'll cheer them right up! So...we don't have anything to worry about except waking them up.

[There's a confident nod to go along with this statement.]

[cheats]

[ That just makes Ciel smile fondly, and he nods. He's not sure if he can agree if that's what it's like, but he's also a very cynical person. Though when it comes to Mabel, he hardly wants to crush that optimism. ]

That is true. It is good that we have someone so thoughtful looking after everyone, really.

[ He cants his head lightly, as if suddenly reminded of something. ]

By the way... Ibuki asked me to take her spot in the knitting lessons. I can promise no skill, but this my promise to her is one I plan to keep, if you would not mind me trying.

[ineptus]

[She doesn't mean for it to, but her smile from before looks a little sad when he says that.]

Of course I wouldn't mind! Anyone who wants to learn I am willing to teach! There won't be a whole lot of time tonight to learn though, huh?

[cheats]

[ He shakes his head, but it's with an easier smile as if to help her feel more at ease. ]

I suppose not, but that's fine. To be honest, I am... Well, such tasks are not exactly suited to a nobleman, so I would be rather poor at it regardless.

All right, everyone! You'll find those things you wanted in the treasure chest! Everything needs to be put back at the end of the night, okay?

[Upon looking in the chest, they'll find the items they requested.]
