night seven - kill log
Who: Killers and Belgium
What: only one day before retirement
When: The seventh night
Where: The park...
[It's in the dead of the night when Belgium's door abruptly unlocks. Her bracelet begins to beep. Something seems to be calling her, ordering her to leave her room. For every moment she delays, it beeps with more and more urgency, especially if he tries to bring anything. And besides, she feels groggy, not inclined to protest much.
As she steps outside, lights illuminate the path. The lights lead into the park. As soon as she steps through the door into the park, the door slams shut. It won't open for her again, and pounding on the door or calling for help will not yield any results. It's only once inside that the grogginess wears off.
You can run or try to hide, but there's not much use to it. Your bracelet is still beeping, the only obvious sound in the darkness. And though you're not restrained, you'll find there's no way you can strike a blow against the killers; the bracelet will tighten and you'll feel the grogginess return if you try to fight back.]

There's none of Belgium's usual good-naturedness or cheer. She looks around a couple of times and then, apparently satisfied with that, stares into the gloom of the park with all the fury of a lioness protecting her cubs.
She waits to see what will happen.]

Good evening.
[ He keeps walking closer, then cants his head. It seems like he's not wasting time, since his question is cold and direct. ]
Do you have a role?

[ He speaks coldly, then shakes his head. ]
You think that fighting against us is doing the right thing, but you're wrong. Though admittedly, I don't have much patience to argue that, so you're free to believe as you wish. So, please. You'll be waking up soon either way.

[ He shrugs, then motions for her to follow him as he starts to walk. ]
This is little more than a dream. As I understand, it should be like waking up from a particularly deep sleep.

[Belgium hesitates, but follows after a moment. She suspects running would only lead to getting shot in the leg.]
Who are the other VIPs, anyway?
no subject
Please. Don't assume I'm so noble as to give you the names of my few remaining comrades.
[ He scoffs ]
I sacrificed one of them, after all, so isn't that clear enough that you're asking the wrong person?
no subject
Sacrificing Tamaki wasn't a bad plan, though, strategy-wise.

[ He says so flatly and coolly, since it's clearly something he's not going to budge on. Other members might have obliged as a "dying" wish, but Ciel had no such inclination. ]
I would say "thank you," but I take no joy in it. Sacrificing one piece for the sake of avoiding checkmate is a loss nonetheless. I would not dishonor him so by taking joy in it. It was only what was necessary to see that we still had a chance of victory.

[ And here they are at the roller coaster! Ciel motions towards the car for her to get in, and Belgium might notice that to her left, there's a steel cable in the shape of a noose. ]
Go ahead, then.

What is it about these last few nights? This last minute defiance is pointless... You can get in on your own, or a combination of the drugs from your bracelet and a bullet will get you in there.

We're not to do things as simple as that. It makes making up too difficult. These methods are... brutal, but it's to help you when you wake up.
[ He says it casually, like it obvious, then cocks the gun ]
Now, get in.

...For what it's worth, we did not wish to be so cruel. But we must.
[ At which point he'll stand and grab the gun he had set down. ]

If you're really waking everyone up, what happens to you at the end if you win?
no subject
Then I'll find out who murdered my family. I will avenge them, and then I will die.
[ He doesn't explain why, or the extent to which his "death" was so much more than that, but he has no wish to. He points the gun at her again, then shoots, bullet going into her shoulder. ]
I am sorry. I hope you wake up peacefully.
[ At which point Ciel will turn away to go into the booth to start the ride, but it will take him a bit longer to do so. ]
