special guests night six 24 players remaining. There's no way to mark the passage of time after lights out, but it isn't long before the lightbulb in your bedroom flickers back to life, and your door unlocks. Make your way into the park; the door will unlock for you, and the path you need to take lights up with a dim red glow. When you reach the foot of the treehouse, a ladder has been dropped for you. Climb up and come inside. The interior of the treehouse has been made comfortable for you. There's an old map of the park on the wall, as well as the mounted and stuffed heads of cartoon animal costumes on the wall. The decor seems like something of a parody of an upscale hunting lodge, and you're welcome to sit by the fire and enjoy snacks from back home, or relax in one of the outdoor hammocks. Enjoy yourself as you decide who to kill. [ thinking about why ciel says it would be too suspicious to target her, hmm ]

I wouldn't know. I couldn't simply ask her, since I would have to explain why, and I would not risk bluffing that I held another role.

[ He sits back in his chair ]

But she's a shrewd woman. She figured out the logic of our kills as well as why both Ibuki and Tamaki were almost certainly VIPs independently of the confirmation today. I wouldn't count on her not showing the same amount of care in the face of revealing something so sensitive. She trusts me, but there's also a limit to that.

Ah, treading a fine line. [ you can't be certain. if she had told someone, it would pretty much condemn them. ]

Then I suppose the question is...who do we target tonight? One of the buddy cops is someone with a cellphone, correct? We could certainly play the elimination game again, but we can't risk losing another one of our numbers, even with the mystery bomber on the loose.

Well, our list is at least narrowed down considerably...

[ He looks over to Tamaki's poster ]

With the changes today, I think our viable targets would be Aya, Belgium, Clash, Kenny, Kurapika, Maya, Oz, Sheba, and Sigma? At least, these are those that we don't already know the pairs. Considering only one single remains, I think Ibuki's suggestion may be as good as any. She suggested Belgium or Sigma.

Belgium or Sigma...

[ she's quiet for a moment, mulling over the two options ] Are we shuffling between the two of them, then? I've never spoken to Belgium, but Sigma seems likely, at least in terms of the cellphone theory. Apparently he's from the 2040s. [ TECHNOLOGY MARCHES ON ]

Ibuki had reason to suspect Belgium, so... I will trust her judgement on that.

[ after the conversions, he trusts ibuki's judgement a lot... ]

I think picking between the two of them may be wise. My only other guess would be Kenny, actually. His... Well, the way he has about him implies that he may have a role. But it may simply be personality as well.

The ridiculous child that believes himself a superhero...that could be. [ rolling her eyes ]

Questionable intelligence aside, Ibuki had excellent foresight.

That's why I thought it might be possible. If he believes himself a hero, then what better role to fulfill that fantasy than a role opposed to ours?

[ Ciel hums thoughtfully to himself, then shakes his head ]

But... I agree. Her foresight was surprising. It's why I'd trust her judgement to pick one of them over my own ideas.

He was the one who pushed hardest for Ibuki's execution at first.

And what was that he said tonight, "no one better be surprised"?

He did, yes, but I should also note to be fair that this is not completely unreasonable. I would be likely to do the same if I were merely a villager.

He did. I really only suspect him because the tone of the original note from the medical team was so harsh... There are certainly few that speak in such strong statements but now.

[ He shrugs with a sigh ]

But who knows. Perhaps we will get lucky and figure out another pair to narrow the pool.

Ir could be a ruse. The smart thing to do would be disguise yourself in a letter, right? [The letter sounded a lot like K.... but that kid's got a good head on his shoulders, so]

We're doing pretty good so far, even with them all united...

Oh, certainly. It is what I would do, but in the event that they are truly morons, it it not a bad reason to strike.

After tonight, we would only have, what, three to figure out? Unless we would be so unlucky as to strike the last single.
