night three - kill log
Who: Killers, Dipper, and Mahiru
What: "dipper and mabel would win any twinoff murder game just by virtue of not having one crazy twin and one sane twin." - aki
When: The third night
Where: The park...
[It's in the dead of the night when Dipper's door abruptly unlocks. His bracelet begins to beep. Something seems to be calling him, ordering him to leave his room. For every moment he delays, it beeps with more and more urgency, especially if he tries to bring anything. And besides, he feels groggy, not inclined to protest much. Shortly after, Mahiru's door also unlocks, and she's led to the park behind him.
As he steps outside, lights illuminate the path. The lights lead into the park. As soon as either one steps through the door into the park, the door slams shut. It won't open for again, and pounding on the door or calling for help will not yield any results. It's only once inside that the grogginess wears off.
You can run or try to hide, but there's not much use to it. Your bracelet is still beeping, the only obvious sound in the darkness. And though you're not restrained, you'll find there's no way you can strike a blow against the killers; the bracelet will tighten and you'll feel the grogginess return if you try to fight back.]

He was in the middle of making a Venn Diagram of strong, weak, and average fighters, when his door unlocked and his bracelet started beeping. Alarmed, he got to his feet and looked over to his door, a bad feeling in his gut. But, the beeping, grogginess, and curiosity had him inclined to leave, despite the fact that he knew it probably wasn't a good idea.
He follows the lights, each step filled with dread and making his stomach tighten the more he walked.]
D-don't worry, Dipper. You'll be fine! Y-you're probably just being paranoid, that's all. [He stepped through the door into the park, jumping at the sound of the door slamming shut, and he whips around and studies the door for a few minutes before realizing the urgency of the situation. There's a slight hesitation, before he backs away from the door and turns around to begin running, to where he wasn't sure. Anywhere was better than standing around in the plain open, he was sure.]
no subject
Yeah just not going to think about that. Instead, she's going to wait for Dipper, which apparently wasn't going to take long. When she sees him running, she takes a deep breath and runs after him.]
Dipper! Hey Dipper! Over here!
no subject
Mabel! [He runs back to her and grabs her hand, to try and get her to run with him.]
I-I don't know what's going on Mabel but I think something really bad is about to happen!
no subject
But after a moment, she tries to tug him to a stop.]
Dipper wait, I have an idea! Come with me!
no subject
O..okay Mabel. [He'll follow her for now, since he doesn't have any better ideas himself.
You should hurry though, Mabel. The beeping in his bracelet is making him more and more stressed by the second.]
no subject
We can duck down in the train carts! We're small, we'll fit really well I bet!
[The beeping is bothering her too. Even though she knows what's going on, she can't help but be stressed by that sound still.]
And then we can talk about what's going on...we'd be safe there for a little while.
no subject
Why is this happening?! A-are we the targets tonight or something?! [That question's already been answered from the start, though..]
no subject
I...I think we both need to calm down first. I mean we can't figure things out if you're sweating everywhere and hyperventilating, Dipper.

Y-you're right, you're right. Sorry... [Mabel he's so confused and so scared..]

[With another deep breath of her own, she drops her hands but only so she can take his.]
...Dipper, I have to tell you something, okay?
no subject
...what? [What could she possibly have to tell him in a moment like this..]

Outside that door, the exhaustion leaves her limbs and the only feeling she has left is that headache, the aching scar, the black spot under those bandages she hasn't gotten to change again yet.
She thinks she can imagine silhouettes.]
Good evening...?

One of them is Ibuki, jogging closer and looking a little more worried than she usually does - though admittedly she doesn't usually look all that worried, so that's not saying much. ]
Mahiru-chan! Mahiru-chan, quick! We have to go over to the teacups! Ibuki saw something there!
[ If her frantic pointing is anything to go by, there's...probably something over that way? ]
no subject
[Any request whatsoever from Ibuki has always been impossible to refuse. Mahiru would almost automatically smile at the sight of those cones; as it is, she immediately falls into line with Ibuki and takes her hand.]
Did Ibuki-chan get a good look? Or just see something? This had better not be a trick to get me onto the ride because I'm really feeling kinda cruddy to... night...
no subject
[ When Mahiru reaches out to take her hand, though, Ibuki laces her fingers through the other girl's, leading the way. She's been over to the teacup ride dozens of times in the past few days, often riding them...even despite Kuzuryuu's warnings from their first-day meeting. ]
After she came in here, she thought she'd just use the time to ride a few things, but...but!
no subject
[Something about those words' sound really bothers Mahiru and she frowns, repeating herself, muscles in her hand tense.]
We can't go back... I can't run away...
no subject
[ They should be getting nearer to the teacups, though. Ibuki's not making any moves except in that direction, worried and insistent. ]
If running away isn't an option, let's just go sit somewhere together until the sun comes up, Mahiru-chan.
no subject
[And everything makes sense all of a sudden. They're alone, and somehow eight people have been eager to play along, and Mabel would have told Ibuki, and she didn't have such strong strategic considerations. Mahiru can see they've reached the teacups by both the little loop shapes and the arching castle just a little further south. Mahiru stops and closes her eyes, patting herself down to make sure her camera isn't on her.]
Oh, no. I'd love to take a picture of you in the sunrise, but I guess my snap chat buddies get to keep my camera.
no subject
[ It's not like it's a big deal if it isn't right now...Ibuki tugs at Mahiru's hand again, still interested in heading to the teacups. ]
Shouldn't we just worry about keeping a move on until we're there, for now?
no subject
[A few steps later, it occurs to Mahiru that with their intertwined hands keeping their bodies so close, perhaps there is something she can do to Ibuki. She raises her free hand; but feeling dizzy again, her arm lowers just as easily.
There's no escape. She is with Ibuki, and she trusted her almost more than Missile, and she goes through the gate and stands in front of that pink teacup.]
I'm really tired. Ibuki-chan, you're gonna have to spin it.
no subject
[ Though after Mahiru gets in - if she does - Ibuki will slide in just as easily, though she doesn't plan to close the door or let the ride start. ]
Ready?
no subject
[So, Mahiru's gotten into the ride now. At night, the cheap paint feels even colder against the bare backs of her knees. She gently tries to tug their hands apart, since she figures they're gonna operate the ride now--whether their hands end up freed or not, she sees then the failure for them to start moving.]
Ibuki-chan, does this not work at night or something?
no subject
[ It's not like they can't...if Mahiru really wants to, they'll close the door and Ibuki'll spin them around for the space of one ride. ]
It's up to you! Ibuki only has time to ride it once, though.
