There's no way to mark the passage of time after lights out, but it isn't long before the lightbulb in your bedroom flickers back to life, and your door unlocks. Make your way into the park; the door will unlock for you, and the path you need to take lights up with a dim red glow. When you reach the foot of the treehouse, a ladder has been dropped for you. Climb up and come inside. The interior of the treehouse has been made comfortable for you. There's an old map of the park on the wall, as well as the mounted and stuffed heads of cartoon animal costumes on the wall. The decor seems like something of a parody of an upscale hunting lodge, and you're welcome to sit by the fire and enjoy snacks from back home, or relax in one of the outdoor hammocks. Enjoy yourself as you decide who to kill. [ Ciel was actually... pretty upset by how the trial went today. He considers himself pretty cold-hearted, but watching two people get executed out of fear and desperation? That's genuinely frightening to him. They really are turning into little better than beasts, at this rate.

Though it might not seem like Ciel is upset at all, since his immediate reaction is laughter, though if you have an especially shrewd eye, it's easy enough to see that it's laughter that comes from not knowing what else to do. ]

Ha! I can't believe it! They really went along with it just because that purple man just pointed his finger randomly! And now two people are dead, whereas we would have only been able to pick one! Clearly, they would have been safer in our hands!

[ He laughs a little more, then settles in his chair with a more serious, vicious expression, because really, this was a little too far for him. ]

What beasts... We're all becoming little more than beasts. So in lieu of that, I want to kill K. Tonight. Gundam realized he was wrong, but that thing insisted on this incredible show.

[Oh, you're upset, Ciel? Royce got accused out of nowhere, and even though that was waved off immediately, the momentary scare that somehow, somebody knew, was one that he didn't want to feel again.]

[Honestly, he's glad Miko is dead. Good riddance. Her, choosing his name like that. Ha! Out of "instinct"...]

Gundam truly, well, let to this whole mess. Better for us, really. But, ah, explain a little more about why you want to kill K. Is it because you feel he is too smart..?

I believe he may have a role. He is so vicious in pursuing execution, not caring at all even when evidence in produced otherwise. He is hunting the VIPs. To me, it would seem to go beyond simply the concern of a normal player.

[ Seriously: ] Even if he's not, it's dangerous. He's intelligent, yes, but more than that, it is his ruthlessness that will bite us. He acts like a demon.

...You have a point. And in addition, we will, ah, wake up his friend. Buddy. Partner. Kaoru, wasn't it?

Ibuki doesn't mind! She thinks the cop is among K-chan and Kaoru-chan, Sigma-chan, or Belgium! But, didn't K-chan wanting to go along with this help us? We...saved three more people.

[ Without. Even trying. Ibuki looks a little upset, too, mostly because Gundam made a target of himself, there...

Yes, and for that, we can thank him. But still... That "pinch" feels like too much to me. Accusing people randomly, then telling them that you hardly care with evidence presented? That's too far, in my opinion. And how everyone went along with it without question... That was upsetting, in truth.

[ Ciel sits back in his chair, much calmer by now ]

I agree with your assessment, in any case. K and Kaoru are at least a pair, so we'll strike down half the list, then tomorrow, we can strike Sigma or Belgium unless we need to pursue someone else. We can at least count on Gundam to recant his stances if pushed, it seems.

They all think it's real, right? And...none of them wanted to let us convert. They don't get that it'd be better if we could. Ibuki can see how it'd be scary - Gundam-chan made her and Peko-chan promise to vote after we didn't vote the first day, though.

[ She can't go back on that without being suspicious. ]

Though Ibuki thinks Ciel-chan is underestimating Gundam-chan's stubbornness!

I was going to suggest Aya for her meddling newspaper, but it seems it's doing us more good than she could have imagined. [ HAH ]

I cannot place blame on them for thinking so...they truly do believe we're killing them all.

It occurs to me that there may be a smarter way to approach this, by the way.

[ Even though they've pretty much decided, Ciel thinks that especially with their "true" target tonight, there's a chance he could be protected, so... ]

With how the medical team works, they're more likely to pick someone quite in danger, correct? And tonight, that could be K, though I still doubt they would take the risk with leaving Missile unprotected for a night. So just from a tactical standpoint, wouldn't it be wiser for us to technically choose Kaoru, since we know they're paired? If I understand the rules correctly, this would mean that if K was protected for some reason, we could still wake up Kaoru and at least have one for the night instead of no one like we would if we had picked K. If they're not protected, it would hardly matter, but just in case.

This is a logical strategy. K is...popular, to say the least. It would be probable that he would be protected at least once, during this game...

He's going to lose his popularity if he keeps deciding that random people are worth less than others, but—

With any luck, we can at least slow that process.
